The Kelso Institute Europe is undertaking applied Research on Participatory Economics and Renewables for a Sustainable Future. This mission is to be sustained in close cooperation with the Kelso Professorship at European University Viadrina.

Student Assistant in IT (BA/MA) (f, m, d)

For min. 10 max. 19 hrs / week

Working field:

Your tasks will include:

Managing a hybrid Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace environment;
Maintenance, maintenance and further development of a WordPress website (with Elementor and other plung-ins) as well as associated web applications and tools;
General system administration and troubleshooting for Windows and macOS devices;
Managing email lists and sending campaigns using a mailing tool;
If necessary, adaptation and graphic design of printed matter, occasionally rudimentary editing of videos and photos;
If necessary, maintenance of social media platforms;
If necessary, support of the team in connection with ongoing research and publication projects as well as project proposals.

Requirements:

You should have the following qualifications and skills :

Enthusiasm, passion and an above-average understanding of IT;
Experience with Microsoft 365 administration desired. A deep understanding at the user level with the help of a "learning by doing" approach is required;
An eye for detail and a consistent web design. Experience with WordPress or similar CMS desired, no programming knowledge required;
General understanding of the main technical concepts (e.g. web hosting, DNS, e-mail, computer networks, etc.), which enables basic diagnostics of problems;
Creativity and a high affinity for electronic media (video, photo) as well as social media are an advantage. Experience with image and video editing software as well as graphic design is an advantage;
Independence, diligence, reliability, flexibility, team spirit;
Very good knowledge of English, knowledge of German is an advantage (French, Italian or Polish skills are also used).
