With teams in Chile, Colombia, Brazil, the United States, and Germany, 2811 (https://2811global.com/en/) is a platform for social and ecological change founded to support and lead different organizations on the path to sustainable development through capacity building, social innovation and territorial regeneration.

One of its landmark projects is the Climate Action Academy, which the team plans to expand in Germany and Europe. For this reason, we are looking for a resident with an entrepreneurial attitude and motivation in contributing to solving the climate crisis to reinforce the platform's digital strategy on the one hand, and support the fundraising process of educational projects in the field of action against climate change on the other hand. 2811’s objective is to increase and develop new projects in Germany and other European countries; therefore the resident will need to support the team in finding new funding opportunities, searching and joining networks of climate action, climate education, and sustainable development, as well as support 2811 understanding better the German social entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Climate Action Junior Officer | Part-time Job

Working field:

  • Design new ways of expanding the work of Climate Action Education and looking for new opportunities in Germany and Europe.
  • Create concept notes and offers tailored to potential partners' and users' needs and requirements.
  • Support the translation and development of educational content, funding applications, and organizational strategies in German and English.
  • Develop communication and media materials, as well as support the communication team.
  • Broaden the network of 2811 in Europe and search for private and public fundraising.

Requirements:

About you (all very important!):

  • You are currently studying a topic relevant to the area in which we work: Environmental studies, human ecology, sociology, political science, sustainable development, international cooperation, or educational sciences (or any related field).
  • Important: You are interested in the areas of business development, project management, fundraising, and/or sales.
  • You have experience coordinating international projects and teams.
  • You have an advanced level of English and German (at least C1, spoken and written). Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus.
  • You are available to dedicate at least 15-20 hours per week to this position.

General competences required:

  • Good self-management of time and attention to detail.
  • Good ability to receive constant feedback and to give assertive feedback to other team members.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
  • Flexibility and ability to be part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Respect for diversity in all its forms.
  • Background knowledge in some of the topics we work on: Educational sciences, climate change, innovation, entrepreneurship, system thinking, social entrepreneurship, urban management, etc.
