The mis­sion of the Leib­niz Centre for Agri­cul­tural Land­scape Research (ZALF) as a nation­ally and inter­na­tion­ally act­ive research insti­tute is to deliver solu­tions for an eco­lo­gic­ally, eco­nom­ic­ally and socially sus­tain­able agri­cul­ture – together with soci­ety. ZALF is a mem­ber of the Leib­niz Asso­ci­ation and is loc­ated in Müncheberg (approx. 35 minutes by regional train from Ber­lin-Lichten­berg). It also main­tains a research sta­tion with fur­ther loc­a­tions in Dede­low and Pau­lin­enaue.

Work­ing field:

The DFG fun­ded pro­ject "Der Ein­fluss von Erosion auf die Kohlen­stoff-Dynamik in einem Kontinuum aus Getreide­p­flanze, Rhizosphären-Mik­robiom und organ­is­cher Boden­sub­stanz - Cro­pRhizo­SOM” is a cooper­a­tion of the research Areas 1 Micro­bial Biogeo­chem­istry and Iso­tope Biogeo­chem­istry and Gas­fluxes Groups. It invest­ig­ates the impact of soil erosion state on plant and soil on Car­bon fluxes, Car­bon Sequest­ra­tion, and the Soil Micro­bi­ome in a 14C radio­tracer lab exper­i­ment.

In order to sup­port labor­at­ory and green­house exper­i­ments within the pro­ject, we are offer­ing a tem­por­ary pos­i­tion as a Stu­dent Assist­ant at our Insti­tute in Müncheberg, start­ing 01.11.2021 until 31.04.2022 (6 month).

Your tasks:
  • Assist the col­lec­tion of gas flux, soil and plant samples of a green­house exper­i­ment
  • Basic labor­at­ory work and sampling
  • Sup­port of the exper­i­ment (e.g. water­ing plants)


Your qual­i­fic­a­tions:
  • Stu­dent in agri­cul­ture, bio­logy, envir­on­mental or geo-sci­ence or related fields
  • Exper­i­ence in field work and/or labor­at­ory work related to agri­cul­ture
  • Know­ledge of MS Word and Excel
  • Good com­mu­nic­a­tion skills in Eng­lish
