The position is attached to the Collaborative Research Center SFB 910 "Control of self-organizing nonlinear systems: Theoretical methods and concepts of application" in project B2: "Control of dynamical structures and transport in driven colloidal systems". The research focuses on the dynamics and transport of passive and active colloidal systems under the impact of time-delayed feedback control. The project foots on analytical and numerical methods for classical stochastic systems, as well as concepts from stochastic thermodynamics. The preparation of a PhD thesis is possible.
Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in physics or a comparable subject. Very good knowledge in theoretical physics. Good knowledge in statistical physics of soft matter and biological systems as well as experience in numerical methods are desired. Independent work style and high level of commitment. Good command of German and/or English required; willingness to learn either English or German is expected.
