Work­ing field:

The pos­i­tion is atta­ched to the Col­lab­or­at­ive Rese­arch Cen­ter SFB 910 "Con­trol of self-organ­iz­ing non­lin­ear sys­tems: The­or­et­ical meth­ods and con­cepts of app­lic­a­tion" in pro­ject B2: "Con­trol of dynam­ical struc­tures and trans­port in dri­ven col­loidal sys­tems". The rese­arch focu­ses on the dynam­ics and trans­port of pass­ive and act­ive col­loidal sys­tems under the impact of time-delayed feed­back con­trol. The pro­ject foots on ana­lyt­ical and numer­ical meth­ods for clas­sical sto­chastic sys­tems, as well as con­cepts from sto­chastic ther­mo­dy­nam­ics. The pre­par­a­tion of a PhD the­sis is pos­sible.

Require­ments:

Suc­cess­fully com­ple­ted uni­ver­sity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) in phys­ics or a com­par­able sub­ject. Very good know­ledge in the­or­et­ical phys­ics. Good know­ledge in stat­ist­ical phys­ics of soft mat­ter and bio­lo­gical sys­tems as well as exper­i­ence in numer­ical meth­ods are desi­red. Inde­pend­ent work style and high level of com­mit­ment. Good com­mand of Ger­man and/or Eng­lish requi­red; will­ing­ness to learn eit­her Eng­lish or Ger­man is expec­ted.
