Trans­par­ency Inter­na­tional (TI) is the global civil soci­ety organ­isa­tion lead­ing the fight against cor­rup­tion. In col­lab­or­a­tion with more than 100 chapters world­wide and an inter­na­tional sec­ret­ariat in Ber­lin, Ger­many, TI raises aware­ness of the dam­aging effects of cor­rup­tion and works with part­ners in gov­ern­ment, busi­ness and civil soci­ety to develop and imple­ment effect­ive meas­ures to tackle it.

Role Pur­pose: Assist­ance in the daily work of the Legal Team provid­ing legal sup­port required across the organ­iz­a­tion to ensure full legal and admin­is­trat­ive com­pli­ance with the require­ments of Ger­man law.

  • Sup­port the daily work of the Legal Team provid­ing legal sup­port required across the organ­iz­a­tion to ensure full legal and admin­is­trat­ive com­pli­ance with the require­ments of Ger­man law
  • Assist in the gath­er­ing of inform­a­tion and pre­par­a­tion of doc­u­ments and other work out­puts of the Legal Team
  • Under­take desk research on vari­ous legal top­ics to ensure that reques­ted inform­a­tion and data is avail­able to rel­ev­ant stake­hold­ers
  • Con­trib­ute to legal train­ing activ­it­ies to raise effect­ive use of legal capa­city and cap­ab­il­ity across TI-S and the TI Move­ment and assist in the organ­iz­a­tion and run­ning of other internal and/or external meet­ings and events
  • Sup­port in man­aging the work of pro bono law­yers
  • Main­tain up-to-date, organ­ised and accur­ate elec­tronic and hard copy fil­ing sys­tems
  • Provide gen­eral admin­is­trat­ive and logist­ical assist­ance in day-to-day oper­a­tions of the Legal Team as needed


  • Back­ground in law - fol­low­ing the Ger­man legal cur­riculum - required
  • First work exper­i­ence in a legal envir­on­ment, prefer­ably within a law firm
  • Expert­ise in cur­rent Ger­man law (incl. labour law and con­tract law) required
  • Abil­ity to under­take legal research with a high atten­tion to detail and keen aware­ness of the need for legal accur­acy
  • Excel­lent organ­isa­tional skills and abil­ity to effect­ively man­age pri­or­it­ies and deliver to dead­lines
  • Strong inter­per­sonal skills and abil­ity to inter­act effect­ively with a wide range of stake­hold­ers at all levels of the organ­iz­a­tion demon­strat­ing cli­ent and ser­vice ori­ent­a­tion
  • Strong com­mu­nic­a­tion skills and the abil­ity to work as part of a team as well as inde­pend­ently with lim­ited super­vi­sion
  • Pro­fes­sional lan­guage pro­fi­ciency in both Ger­man and Eng­lish (work­ing lan­guage of the organ­iz­a­tion) essen­tial; addi­tional lan­guages an asset
  • Abil­ity to deal with con­fid­en­tial inform­a­tion
  • Good know­ledge of MS Office and vari­ous internal com­mu­nic­a­tion tools
  • Inter­cul­tural aware­ness, dip­lomacy and polit­ical sens­it­iv­ity
  • Interest in anti-cor­rup­tion work and com­mit­ment to the val­ues and prin­ciples of Trans­par­ency Inter­na­tional
