The Wis­senschaft­szen­trum Ber­lin für Sozi­alforschung gGmbH (WZB Ber­lin Social Sci­ence Centre), Research depart­ment Inter­na­tional Polit­ics and Law, research unit “Global Gov­ernance” (Dir­ector: Prof. Dr. Michael Zürn), is offer­ing two pos­i­tions for two Stu­dent Assist­ants (m/f/d) to be employed for the period of 1 May 2019 until 30 Septem­ber 2020, and a weekly work­ing load of 15 or 19 hours.

Two Stu­dent Assist­ants (m/f/d)

Work­ing field:

Sup­port of sci­entific work, such as lit­er­at­ure research, data col­lec­tion and pro­cessing, provid­ing con­tent-related input for pub­lic­a­tions, as well as edit­or­ial work.


Neces­sary qual­i­fic­a­tions:
  • Bach­elor’s or Mas­ter’s stu­dent in Inter­na­tional Rela­tions, Polit­ical Sci­ence, Soci­ology, or a related dis­cip­line,
  • Very good course achieve­ments,
  • Sound know­ledge of MS Office applic­a­tions,
  • Very good com­mand of writ­ten and spoken Eng­lish,
  • Pre­vi­ous exper­i­ence with, or interest in, data col­lec­tion, pro­cessing, and man­age­ment (e.g., in Excel, STATA, R, or SPSS).

Desired qual­i­fic­a­tions:

  • Know­ledge of the­or­ies of Inter­na­tional Rela­tions, Polit­ical Sci­ence, Soci­ology,
  • Know­ledge of quant­it­at­ive and qual­it­at­ive research meth­ods,
  • Pre­vi­ous exper­i­ence with quant­it­at­ive meth­ods (R, STATA) and/or sys­tem­atic text ana­lysis,
  • Exper­i­ence with ref­er­ence man­age­ment soft­ware (e.g., Citavi, End­Note).

What we of­fer:

accord­ing to TV Stud. III of the Land Ber­lin (cur­rently 12.30 Euros/hour and from July on 12.50 Euros/ hour)
