Uni­versity Pro­fessor - salary grade W3

for the chair of "Cog­nit­ive Psy­cho­logy and Cog­nit­ive Ergo­nom­ics".

Work­ing field:

Ful­fill­ment of teach­ing and research in the area of the found­a­tions, meth­ods and applic­a­tions of cog­nit­ive psy­cho­logy and cog­nit­ive ergo­nom­ics. The teach­ing is inten­ded to address, in par­tic­u­lar, stu­dents of the inter­dis­cip­lin­ary Mas­ter's pro­gram in Human Factors, but should also address stu­dents of other Bach­elor's and Mas­ter's degree pro­grams at the TU Ber­lin, espe­cially in the fields of mech­an­ical engin­eer­ing, trans­port­a­tion engin­eer­ing and com­puter sci­ence. Basic research in the area of cog­nit­ive psy­cho­logy and applic­a­tion-ori­ented research in the field of cog­nit­ive ergo­nom­ics are expec­ted. Research and teach­ing found­a­tions, meth­ods and applic­a­tions of Cog­nit­ive Psy­cho­logy and Cog­nit­ive Ergo­nom­ics.

Require­ments:

Can­did­ates must ful­fill the require­ments for appoint­ment at the pro­fessor level in com­pli­ance with § 100 Ber­lHG (Ber­lin Higher Edu­ca­tion Act), includ­ing a fin­ished aca­demic edu­ca­tion, qual­i­fied achieve­ments in research (PhD, prefer­ably in gen­eral or cog­nit­ive psy­cho­logy), postdoc­toral lec­ture qual­i­fic­a­tion (Habil­it­a­tion) or equi­val­ent qual­i­fic­a­tion (sci­entific papers) and ped­ago­gical didactic qual­i­fic­a­tions, to be given proof of by a teach­ing port­fo­lio (for more inform­a­tion see TUB web­site, quick access no. 144242).
Applic­ants should have very good research and teach­ing exper­i­ence prefer­ably in the area of exper­i­mental gen­eral or cog­nit­ive psy­cho­logy as well as in the area of cog­nit­ive ergo­nom­ics, usu­ally demon­strated by inter­na­tional pub­lic­a­tions, suc­cess­ful third party fund­ing and a rel­ev­ant teach­ing port­fo­lio. Exper­i­ences from inter­dis­cip­lin­ary col­lab­or­a­tions and applic­a­tions in the field of usab­il­ity or user exper­i­ence are desir­able. The will­ing­ness to offer Eng­lish-lan­guage teach­ing is also a pre­requis­ite.
