FU Berlin - Mathematik und Informatik, Institut für Informatik, AG-HCC

The research project CreaCogs (Creative Cognitive Systems) is searching for a new student research assistant with a background in computer science.
The CreaCogs project is an interdisciplinary project funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft and deployed at FU Berlin. The project aims to understand how humans cognitively perform creative problem solving tasks, and to implement the next generation of artificial intelligence creative cognitive systems and tools.

Student assistant (m/f)

Working field:

As a student assistant, you will join an international research environment and will
  • help implement new systems on already established creative inference principles; help maintain and optimize existing systems;
  • assist in the design and running of empirical and computational experiments, to understand how natural and artificial minds best perform certain cognitive tasks;
  • help design and maintain new databases and knowledge bases;
  • take part in the analysis of data resulting from computational experiments and experiments with human participants, sometimes comparing the results.

You are studying at least the fourth semester of Computer Science or a related course of study
  • You are interested in questions regarding artificial intelligence, cognitive systems, multi agent systems, data mining and wonder how minds work
  • You have a high degree of commitment, communication skills, attention to detail and curiosity
  • You are a results oriented productive person, with good time management skills
You are considering (or undergoing) postgraduate studies in Computer Science
  • Your English skills are great
