The TU Dresden is one of eleven German universities that were identified as an “excellence university”. TUD has about 36.500 students and almost 5319 employees, 507 professors among them, and, thus, is the largest university in Saxony, today.
Having been committed to sciences and the engineering before the reunification of Germany, TU Dresden now is a multi-discipline university, also offering humanities and social sciences as well as medicine.
Chair (W3) of Models of Regeneration
At the Center for Molecular and Cellular Bioengineering (CMCB), Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden (CRTD) the position of Chair (W3) of Models of Regeneration is to be filled as soon as possible.
The CRTD (www.crtdresden.de) consists of 19 research and junior research groups working in the areas of Haematology/lmmunology, Diabetes, Neurodegenerative diseases as well as Bone regeneration.
The holder of the chair should have an outstanding international reputation in tissue regeneration and stem cell research, and should conduct modern molecular and cellular research using vertebrate model organisms. The candidate is expected to represent the full spectrum of the research area in academic teaching. A willingness and ability to conduct classes in German and English is expected. The duties include participation in academic selfadministration.
Applicants must fulfil the employment qualification requirements of § 58 of the Act Governing Academic Freedom in Higher Education in the Free State of Saxony (Saxon Academic Freedom in Higher Education Act – SächsHSFG). Prerequisites include a university degree in natural sciences or medicine, a doctoral degree and a habilitation or equivalent qualification record. The position further requires previous teaching experience, an outstanding international track record in scientific research and publications, and in acquired third-party funding.
