Das MPIWG ist eines von mehr als 80 Insti­tu­ten der Max Planck Gesell­schaft e.V. und eines der füh­ren­den For­schungs­zen­tren für die Wis­sen­schafts­ge­schichte.

The Max Planck Research Group His­tor­ical Epi­stem­o­logy of the Final The­ory Pro­gram, headed by Dr. Alex­an­der Blum, is look­ing to employ one Stu­dent Assist­ant (up to 10 hours per week).

At the earli­est pos­sible date and until Septem­ber 30, 2023, with the pos­sib­il­ity of exten­sion.

Working field:

Duties range from gen­eral sup­port of the Group’s work, to car­ry­ing out sci­entific research and com­pil­ing of lit­er­at­ure for the Research Group Leader and other Group mem­bers, sup­port­ing pro­ject mem­bers with the organ­iz­a­tion of sci­entific events, the main­ten­ance and updat­ing of the depart­ment web­site and help­ing to main­tain data­bases and digital repos­it­or­ies.

Requirements:

We expect applic­a­tions from can­did­ates with very good Eng­lish and Ger­man skills. Nat­ive Eng­lish speak­ers are encour­aged to apply. Applic­ants must be at least in their second semester of study at a uni­versity in Ber­lin or Branden­burg. They should have a good work­ing know­ledge of mod­ern inform­a­tion tech­no­logy and the abil­ity to work both inde­pend­ently and in a team.

What we offer:

The weekly work­ing time is up to 10 hours. The salary is based on the rates for stu­dent employ­ees within the frame­work of the Max Planck Soci­ety's pro­mo­tion of young sci­ent­ists. It is cur­rently 12.00 Euros for bach­elor stu­dents and 13.95 Euros for stu­dents in a mas­ter pro­gram who have a bach­elor's degree.
