Working field:
The position holder is expected to represent the above areas in research and teaching in civil engineering and other study programmes at BTU. Lectures are to be held in German and English, fluency in both languages is expected.
A special focus is placed on innovative research topics in the field of numerical methods. Active participation in interdisciplinary research activities is desired. Experimental research is possible in the laboratories of the faculty and in interfaculty laboratory facilities.
The professional participation in the shaping of the structural change in Lusatia and the scientific accompaniment of the associated transformation processes are explicitly desired.
The willingness to participate in the academic self-management and in the promotion of the faculty is required.
Other duties result from the requirements set by § 42 Brandenburgisches Hochschulgesetz (Higher Education Act of the State of Brandenburg - BbgHG) in conjunction with § 3 BbgHG.
Requirements:
The professorship is a part of the Institute of Civil Engineering. We are looking for a nationally and internationally recognized person with outstanding publications in the field of numerical solid and structural mechanics, who can demonstrate special didactic skills and experience in teaching in the field of engineering mechanics and the finite element method. Furthermore, experience in practical modeling, in the use of academic or commercial simulation software or other relevant professional experience is expected.
Experience in the acquisition and realisation of third-party founded projects is expected. The research topics should be relevant for the DFG (German Research Foundation) or comparable international research funding institutions.
