Working field:
The successful candidate is expected to actively contribute to the research in Optimisation and Numerics at the Institute of Mathematics and to be open towards collaborations with other researcher from science, engineering or economics at the BTU. Applications that are addressing the fields of research at the BTU are particularly welcome. Candidates should have a strong portfolio of relevant undergraduate and graduate teaching where the appointee will take responsibility for the curricula in analysis, functional analysis and partial differential equations. Contribution to the teaching in other areas of studies is expected. Lectures are primarily to be held in German, fluency in English is expected.
Other duties result from the requirements set by § 42 Brandenburgisches Hochschulgesetz (Higher Education Act of the State of Brandenburg - BbgHG) in conjunction with § 3 BbgHG.
Requirements:
The appointee will be expected to sustain a leading research programme, and to be active in developing and submitting competitive applications for external funding. The successful applicant will have an outstanding track record of independent research of international standing in the analysis of partial differential equations, for example in the direction of nonlinear partial differential equations, calculus of variations, or evolution equations.
Experience in the acquisition and realisation of third-party funded projects is expected. Fields of research should be relevant for the DFG (German Research Foundation) or similar international research funding organisations.
