Undergraduate Assistant (m/f/d) in the field of study Physics, engineering or comparable
Temporary contract limited until 31. December 2022
Hourly wage 12,96 Euro
As part of a research project, you will develop methods for laser-based ultrasound excitation for applications in non-destructive materials testing as part of an interdisciplinary research team. You will also carry out measurements of the ultrasonic field with the 3D laser Doppler vibrometer.
Setting up, commissioning and testing measurement set-ups for the non-contact excitation of ultrasound in metallic components and plastics
Carrying out experimental investigations for non-destructive testing with laser ultrasound
Acquisition of measured values and data evaluation, development of data evaluation algorithms
Presentation of the measurement results
Students of the following or similar fields of study: Physics or engineering sciences, e. g. physical engineering, electrical engineering, measurement technology, optical systems, laser technology or comparable
Good programming skills, e. g. in Matlab or Python
Experience in optical measurement technology or laser technology is desirable
Basic knowledge of acoustics, wave propagation in solids or ultrasound physics is an advantage
Largely independent, careful way of working, creativity in solving open questions, high level of commitment
Language skills: German or English fluently spoken and written
