Working field:

The Cluster of Excellence "Contestations of the Liberal Script" (SCRIPTS) is located at Freie Universität Berlin, in cooperation with the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, the Hertie School, the Berlin Social Science Center (WZB), the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW), the German Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA), the Center for Eastern European and International Studies (ZOiS), and the Leibniz-Zentrum Moderner Orient (ZMO) [http://www.scripts-berlin.eu].

The postdoctoral position is part of a research project on the patterns, causes and effects of academic freedom contestations, which is situated between the RUs Orders and (Re-)Allocation. The researcher will contribute to the conceptualization, organization and implementation of the research project, which aims at the identification of the core content of the liberal norm of academic freedom, the mapping of patterns of its contestation, the explanation of contestations, and the exploration of some of the contestations’ first consequences for academic freedom as a liberal international norm. The researcher will work in an interdisciplinary context alongside other researchers, and will primarily focus on the mapping, explanation and consequences of academic freedom contestations.
