The TU Dres­den is one of ele­ven Ger­man uni­ver­si­ties that were iden­ti­fied as an “excel­lence uni­ver­sity”. TUD has about 36.500 stu­dents and almost 5319 employees, 507 pro­fes­sors among them, and, thus, is the lar­gest uni­ver­sity in Sax­ony, today.

Having been com­mit­ted to sci­en­ces and the engi­nee­ring before the reuni­fi­ca­tion of Ger­many, TU Dres­den now is a multi-disci­pline uni­ver­sity, also offe­ring huma­nities and social sci­en­ces as well as medi­cine.

At the Insti­tute of Cli­ni­cal Psy­cho­logy and Psy­cho­the­rapy the Chair of Cli­ni­cal Psy­cho­logy and Beha­vio­ral Neu­ro­sci­ence is offe­ring a posi­tion star­ting Octo­ber 1, 2021. The posi­tion is limi­ted for 3 years with the option of exten­sion. The period of employ­ment is gover­ned by the Fixed Term Rese­arch Con­tracts Act (Wis­sen­schafts­zeit­ver­trags­ge­setz - WissZeitVG). The posi­tion aims at obtai­ning fur­ther aca­de­mic qua­li­fi­ca­tion (e.g. habi­li­ta­tion the­sis). Balan­cing family and career is an important issue. The chair inves­ti­ga­tes the neural bases of socio-affec­tive and -cogni­tive pro­ces­ses, their alte­ra­ti­ons in psy­cho­pa­tho­logy and plasti­city through psy­cho­the­ra­peu­tic inter­ven­tion. As one of Ger­many’s excel­lence uni­ver­si­ties, TU Dres­den offers out­stan­ding rese­arch infra­st­ruc­ture with the Neu­ro­ima­ging Cen­ter (3 Tesla MRI, MRI-com­pa­ti­ble 64-chanal EEG- and peri­pheral phy­sio­logy-sys­tems, TMS, Mul­ti­com­pu­ter-Lab for beha­vio­ral assess­ments).

  • con­tri­bu­tion to plan­ning and exe­cu­tion of courses in the Mas­ter pro­gram Clin­ical Psy­cho­logy and Psy­cho­ther­apy and par­ti­cip­a­tion in aca­demic ser­vices and admin­is­tra­tion. Own research and pub­lic­a­tion ini­ti­at­ives are expli­citly sup­por­ted.

Require­ments:

  • uni­versity and PhD degree
  • pub­lic­a­tions in inter­na­tional peer-reviewed journ­als
  • exper­i­ence in neur­os­cientific meth­od­o­logy (fMRI, EEG, fNIRS)
  • interest in clin­ical-psy­cho­lo­gical and psy­cho­ther­apy research
  • sub­stan­tial expert­ise in stat­ist­ics, exper­i­mental psy­cho­logy and clin­ical dia­gnostics
  • very good com­mu­nic­a­tion, organ­iz­a­tion and team­work­ing skills
  • work­ing hour flex­ib­il­ity and pro­fes­sional hand­ling of patient con­tacts
  • expert­ise in or will­ing­ness to learn pro­gram­ming lan­guages (e.g. MAT­LAB).
Star­ted/advanced train­ing in psy­cho­ther­apy is advant­age­ous and good know­ledge of Ger­man is advant­age­ous.
