The department of Agent Technologies in Business Applications and Telecommunication is offering job positions for scientific researchers (doctoral candidate) to work on EMPAIA (Ecosystem for Pathology Diagnostics with AI Assistance). The project is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy with the aim of establishing a platform for the safe use of AI solutions in the field of image-based pathology. Together with consortium partners Charité, Fraunhofer MEVIS, Vitagroup and QuiP, the DAI-Labor is working on the multifaceted challenges associated with the application of AI algorithms to diagnostic pathology. Topics include development of distributed, GPU/TPU supported infrastructure, explainability and validation of AI solutions, and legislative aspects of their application in a clinical setting.
Work in an applied research project for the development of an AI platform for large medical images
Conception, development and deployment of distributed GPU clusters for machine learning and execution of AI applications.
Development and implementation of AI applications for demonstration applications.
Cooperation with multiple project partners.
Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in computer science, computer engineering, physics, mathematics or a related field
Knowledge of the concepts, methods, and technologies in the fields of virtualization, linux, dev-ops and software development.
Experience with distributed systems and middleware-technologies
Very good programming skills (Java, C++ or Python)
Highly capable in abstraction, modelling, and finding creative solutions
Excellent command of German and English
