The Gra­duate School "Mine­ral-bonded com­po­si­tes for enhan­ced struc­tu­ral impact safety" (GRK 2250), fun­ded by the Ger­man Rese­arch Foun­da­tion (DFG), offers a posi­tion star­ting from July 1, 2021, sub­ject to the avai­la­bi­lity of resour­ces, as a
Rese­arch Asso­ciate / Post­doc / Junior Rese­arch Group Lea­der
(Sub­ject to per­so­nal qua­li­fi­ca­tion employees are remu­ne­ra­ted accord­ing to salary group E 14 TV-L)
for a period up to 4,5 years. The period of employ­ment is gover­ned by the Fixed Term Rese­arch Con­tracts Act (Wis­sen­schafts­zeit­ver­trags­ge­setz - WissZeitVG). The posi­tion aims at obtai­ning fur­ther aca­de­mic qua­li­fi­ca­tion (e.g. habi­li­ta­tion the­sis).

Work­ing field:

Inde­pen­dent sci­en­ti­fic rese­arch and con­ti­nued qua­li­fi­ca­tion wit­hin the frame­work of the DFG-GRK 2250. Cross-pro­ject sci­en­ti­fic work and over­ar­ching collec­tion, pro­ces­sing, uti­li­za­tion and dis­se­mi­na­tion of data and fin­dings from the indi­vi­dual rese­arch pro­jects of the GRK 2250 with the aim of fully deve­lo­ping the high poten­tial of syn­er­ge­tic rese­arch in the GRK; Faci­li­ta­ting a con­stant and inten­sive, mul­ti­la­te­ral col­la­bo­ra­tion bet­ween the doc­to­ral rese­arch pro­jects in the GRK; Con­cep­tion of a syn­er­ge­tic data­base for the methods and results from the expe­ri­men­tal, nume­ri­cal, metro­lo­gi­cal or empi­ri­cal doc­to­ral pro­jects in the GRK; Deve­lop­ment and activa­tion of syn­er­gies in the Gra­duate School through inter­di­sci­pli­nary thin­king and action; Deve­lop­ment and expe­ri­men­ting of GRK-spe­ci­fic inter­di­sci­pli­nary approa­ches; Inde­pen­dent ela­bo­ra­tion and for­mu­la­tion of a self-con­tai­ned rese­arch task which is clearly above the level of the pro­mo­tion pro­jects and has as many con­ten­tual inter­faces as pos­si­ble to the doc­to­ral rese­arch pro­jects; Inde­pen­dent work on the inter­face bet­ween expe­ri­ments, nume­ri­cal simu­la­ti­ons, mea­su­rement tech­ni­ques and empi­ri­cal ana­ly­zes, high-qua­lity publi­ca­tion on the results of the rese­arch work in indi­vi­dual or coope­ra­tive publi­ca­ti­ons at con­fe­ren­ces and sci­en­ti­fic jour­nals. One’s sci­en­ti­fic qua­li­fi­ca­tion impro­ve­ment by con­sis­tent app­li­ca­tion of rese­arch approa­ches, methods and fin­dings resul­ting from the over­ar­ching approach should at the end ful­fill the goals of the habi­li­ta­tion.


Excel­lent uni­ver­sity and doc­to­rate degree in the field of engi­nee­ring sci­en­ces. Inter­di­sci­pli­nary know­ledge is requi­red in the fields of expe­ri­men­tal cha­rac­te­ri­za­tion of mine­ral-bonded com­po­si­tes, their nume­ri­cal simu­la­tion and non-con­tact high-speed mea­su­rement tech­no­logy. We are loo­king for a first-class young sci­en­tist with excel­lent ver­bal and writ­ten com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills in the Eng­lish lan­guage, who want to dis­tin­guish oneself in sci­ence. Curio­sity, fle­xi­bi­lity and above-average com­mit­ment as well as a high degree of lea­dership are expec­ted.
As a post­doc at the GRK 2250, you will become part of a suc­cess­ful team of enthu­si­astic rese­ar­chers from diverse back­grounds. You will work in the inspi­ring envi­ron­ment of the GRK 2250 and the TU Dres­den, one of Ger­many's lea­ding rese­arch uni­ver­si­ties. Dres­den is a liv­a­ble city with rich cul­ture and nature.
