Work­ing field:

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to study the development of synaptic connectivity in Drosophila using multiphoton live imaging, genetics, biochemistry and computational modeling. The foundations for this work were laid in two recent publications (Özel et al., 2019 Dev. Cell; Kiral et al., 2020 Nature Communications). The postdoctoral position comes with the opportunity for close collaboration with quantitative image analysts and mathematicians. In addition, the candidate will the opportunity to develop their independence. The position is initially restricted to a 3-year period as part of a German Research Foundation grant; subsequent employment is possible. Require­ments:

PhD of equivalent degree in biological or computational sciences.

Desirable:

Laboratory language is English. Experience with Drosophila genetics is plus. Computational experience is a plus.
