Open access publishing: Sales and project management

Working field:

We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join our team full time as a trainee

Trainee: Open access publishing/ Sales and project management

We are a small but dynamic team located in Berlin. For new acquisitions and management of our international customer base providing services for academic publishing within a discovery environment and rolling out a new project revolving around Open Access books we require support for the following activities:

  • Identification of and outreach to potential customers
  • Customer pitches (e-mail, telephone, live demos)
  • Negotiations with customers on service level and price
  • Account management
  • Communication with stakeholders, customers and technical team
  • Project management

You should have good communication skills and the ability to quickly understand a potential customer’s needs and offer solutions. You should enjoy pitching, negotiating, and closing a deal. An interest in scholarly communication, an academic degree at Masters level or above, good organizational skills and English fluency are essential. Any academic background will be considered. Some preliminary experience in scholarly publishing of journals and/or books would be helpful. Larger customer projects may require some project management skills. We are looking for a team player with independent problem-solving skills to move our business forward.

What we offer:

We offer insight into the Open Access publishing industry and hands on experience for training and honing your sales and project management skills within the framework of an open knowledge goal.
