We are looking for an enthusiastic and determined doctoral researcher to join Prof. Antje Beling's laboratory at the Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Institute of Biochemistry. We encourage the application of a highly motivated and reliable candidate with a Master degree in life sciences (see below). We seek for a scientist willing to integrate into the various research networks at the Charité research environment, with a focus on infectious biology, immunology (ZIBI) and cardiac sciences (Young-DZHK). We expect your commitment to become a member of a structured graduate program and actively participate in workshops, retreats and lab rotations within this DFG-funded project. The ideal candidate will perform and analyze experiments in S2 labs to define the molecular crosstalk between USP18, ISG15 and IFNAR in specific heart cells upon perturbation by infection and sterile inflammation. Focusing on the crosstalk between ISG15 with USP18 in a humanized mouse model, this project will define therapeutic aspects of protein ISGylation/ISG15 and Usp18. We encourage the application of scientists with a strong interest in infectious biology and infection-triggered innate regulatory pathways at the crossroad of antiviral defense and control of cellular stress responses.
Scientific staff is given sufficient time to carry out their own scientific work in accordance with their employment relationship.
