The project position is starting immediately. The position comprises 50% of the fulltime weekly hours and is limited until January 31, 2024. The period of employment is governed by § 2 (2) Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG). The position is part of the BMBF-funded project “Urban Water Management: German Expertise for Kazakh Cities”. The overall goal of the project is to develop alternative solutions for sustainable management of urban water resources in Kazakhstan. For this, a virtual city model will be conceptualized and demonstrated at a test site in Nur-Sultan city. The model will focus on scenarios-based estimations of different urban water fluxes as well as all natural inflows, outflows, and changes in storage in the urban water basin.
Your main task in the project is the development and implementation of necessary software infrastructure for the realization of the virtual city model in Kazakhstan. The work will focus on further development of the existing groundwater simulation platform www.inowas.com and will consist in both backend and frontend development.
