Der Cluster Matters of Activity hat das Ziel, Grundlagen für eine neue Kultur des Materialen zu schaffen. Die zentrale Vision des Projekts ist es, Bilder, Räume und Materialien als aktive Bauformen einer neuen symbolischen und physischen Realität zu entwickeln, in der sich Natur und Kultur in neuartiger Weise verschränken. In diesem Zusammenhang ist die interdisziplinäre Erforschung und Entwicklung von nachhaltigen Prozessen und Strukturen ein zentrales Anliegen in allen Bereichen visuell-materialer Prägung wie Wearables, Werkstofftechnik, Medizintechnik, Logistik, Architektur und Robotik. Mehr als 40 Disziplinen untersuchen systematisch Designstrategien für Materialien und Strukturen, die sich spezifischen Anforderungen und Umgebungen anpassen. Der Cluster setzt auf eine neue Rolle von Gestaltung, die sich vor dem Hintergrund eines wachsenden Reichtums und der stetigen Weiterentwicklung von Materialien und Visualisierungsformen in allen Disziplinen abzeichnet.

Working field:
The connection between Image, Space and Material is particularly evident in robot-assisted surgery. The control of the instruments replaces direct access to the body. In the planned project, this spatial separation will be by examining different forms of guided action in the context of a model of the »Digital Twin«. Action (Guidance) in the context of unpredictable situations will be explored.

Requirements:
Completed University degree as well as doctorate in the field of computer science or a related field, e.g. medical, media or business informatics
Desirable:
Above-average willingness to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration, especially in a medical context; substantial experience in the field of human-computer interaction; very good command of spoken and written English and German; qualifications should be described in a letter of motivation; an additional exposé should focus on possible research to be conducted within the scope of the job description.
