Tech­ni­sche Infor­ma­ti­ons­bi­blio­thek (TIB) - Pro­gram Area B, User and Inform­a­tion Ser­vices

TIB, being part of the Leib­niz Rese­arch Asso­ci­ation, is with around 550 employ­ees one of the lar­gest tech­nical inform­a­tion cen­tres in Ger­many, hav­ing three main func­tions:
1. Act­ing in the capa­city of the Leib­niz Inform­a­tion Centre for Sci­ence and Tech­no­logy, our for­ward-look­ing ser­vices secure the infra­struc­tural require­ments for pro­vid­ing rese­arch­ers in sci­ence and indus­try with high-qual­ity inform­a­tion and lit­er­at­ure.
2. Car­ry­ing out cut­ting edge rese­arch to fur­ther expand TIB’s role as a Ger­man inform­a­tion centre for the digit­isa­tion of sci­ence and tech­no­logy
3. Offer lib­rary ser­vices for the Leib­niz Uni­ver­sity Han­nover.

As the Ger­man Natio­nal Lib­rary of Sci­ence and Tech­no­logy our future-ori­ented ser­vices ensure the infra­struc­tural require­ments for a high-qual­ity sup­ply of inform­a­tion and lit­er­at­ure for rese­arch in sci­ence and indus­try. Our ser­vices as a uni­ver­sity lib­rary secure the local sup­ply for the Leib­niz Uni­ver­sity Han­nover.

Pro­ject coordin­ator Open Access Recom­mender Sys­tem (m/f/d)

Work­ing field:

The Bib­li­o­met­ric and Semantic Open Access Recom­mender Net­work (BISON) pro­ject, fun­ded by the Fed­eral Min­istry of Edu­ca­tion and Research (BMBF) and car­ried out in cooper­a­tion with the Saxon State and Uni­versity Lib­rary Dresden (SLUB), is devel­op­ing a recom­mend­a­tion ser­vice for qual­ity-assured open access journ­als. TIB is respons­ible for the pro­ject coordin­a­tion, com­munity par­ti­cip­a­tion and for the devel­op­ment work.

Your tasks
  • Coordin­a­tion of the pro­ject with internal and external part­ners
  • Organ­iz­a­tion of the qual­ity assur­ance pro­cess and work with the com­munit­ies
  • Pro­duc­tion of inform­a­tion mater­ial
  • Plan­ning and real­iz­a­tion of events

Require­ments:

Your qual­it­ies
  • Suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter’s degree or equi­val­ent), prefer­ably in inform­a­tion sci­ence, nat­ural sci­ence or a related field
  • Know­ledge of the open access and aca­demic land­scape
  • Very good com­mu­nic­a­tion and cooper­a­tion skills

Desir­able
  • Exper­i­ence with bib­li­o­graphic metadata and aca­demic pub­lish­ing
  • Exper­i­ence with work in joint pro­jects
  • Exper­i­ence in teach­ing open access skills in a pro­fes­sional or non-pro­fes­sional con­text

Pro­ject coordin­ator Open Access Recom­mender Sys­tem (m/f/d)

to work in the field of pub­lic­a­tion prob­ably by 1st Feb­ru­ary 2021. The pos­i­tion is lim­ited to two years. The reg­u­lar weekly work­ing time is 19.9 hours (part-time). The remu­ner­a­tion is based on pay scale group 13 TV-L.
