Technische Universität Berlin, Faculty IV - Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Institute of Microelectronics and Computer Engineering , invites applications for a position of a
University Professor - salary grade W3
in the field of "Remote Sensing Image Analysis".
The position is initially funded for five years by the female professors' program of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research to promote equality between women and men in science and research at German universities.
Teaching and research in Remote Sensing with a particular focus on methods from big data analysis and machine learning. Particularly wanted are experiences with methods and tools for evaluation of image data, feature extraction, exact and scalable information retrieval, image data integration, and benchmark archives.
Successful applicants must fulfill the requirements for appointment at the professor level in compliance with § 100 BerlHG (Berlin Higher Education Act), including a completed academic education, qualified achievements in research (PhD), post-doctoral lecture qualification (Habilitation) or equivalent scientific qualification (scientific papers) as well as pedagogical didactic qualifications, to be given proof of by a teaching portfolio (for more information see TUB website, quick access no. 144242).
Applicants should have very good research and teaching experience preferably in the area of remote sensing and big data methods, usually demonstrated by international publications, successful third party funding and a relevant teaching portfolio. Especially experiences from interdisciplinary collaborations in this area are desirable.
The willingness to offer teaching in German as well as in English language is also a prerequisite. Good English language skills are required. The willingness to learn German is expected from Non-German speaking applicants.
The position includes teaching duties in the Bachelor and Master programs “Computer Science”, “Computer Engineering”, Media Informatics, Media Technology, and “Information Systems Engineering”.
