Technische Universität Berlin - Faculty V- Mechanical Engineering and Transport Systems - Institute of Psychology and Ergonomics offers a position of a
University Professor - salary grade W3
for the chair of "Cognitive Psychology and Cognitive Ergonomics".
Fulfillment of teaching and research in the area of the foundations, methods and applications of cognitive psychology and cognitive ergonomics. The teaching is intended to address, in particular, students of the interdisciplinary Master's program in Human Factors, but should also address students of other Bachelor's and Master's degree programs at the TU Berlin, especially in the fields of mechanical engineering, transportation engineering and computer science. Basic research in the area of cognitive psychology and application-oriented research in the field of cognitive ergonomics are expected. Research and teaching foundations, methods and applications of Cognitive Psychology and Cognitive Ergonomics.
Candidates must fulfill the requirements for appointment at the professor level in compliance with § 100 BerlHG (Berlin Higher Education Act), including a finished academic education, qualified achievements in research (PhD, preferably in general or cognitive psychology), postdoctoral lecture qualification (Habilitation) or equivalent qualification (scientific papers) and pedagogical didactic qualifications, to be given proof of by a teaching portfolio (for more information see TUB website, quick access no. 144242).
Applicants should have very good research and teaching experience preferably in the area of experimental general or cognitive psychology as well as in the area of cognitive ergonomics, usually demonstrated by international publications, successful third party funding and a relevant teaching portfolio. Experiences from interdisciplinary collaborations and applications in the field of usability or user experience are desirable. The willingness to offer English-language teaching is also a prerequisite.
