The Chair of Open Distributed Systems (ODS) is looking for support for project work in the area of industrial (industry 4.0) machine-to-machine (M2M) communication.
Setup and operation of an Industry 4.0 network infrastructure based on the standards of the IEEE Time-Sensitive-Network (TSN) working group
Development of mechanisms for real-time, TSN-based M2M communication (data aggregation, data analysis and actor control) with programmable logic controllers for IoT gateways.
Ensuring the interoperability of the developed, real-time TSN-compatible IoT gateways with commercial TSN-compliant endpoints and terminals (including PLCs) for controlling and monitoring industrial processes and assets
Integration of real-time IoT gateways for time-critical communication with relevant industrial actuators and sensors in the TSN network
Evaluation and demonstration of the approaches, as well as publication of the results
Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom oder Äquivalent) in the fields of computer science, electrical engineering, IT systems engineering or comparable studies; very good results desired
Very well-founded project and programming experience (focus on Linux, C ++, and Python), ideally participation in IT projects in the past
Self-responsive, goal-oriented and quality-conscious work, joy of teamwork
