The TU Dres­den is one of ele­ven Ger­man uni­ver­si­ties that were iden­ti­fied as an “excel­lence uni­ver­sity”. TUD has about 36.500 stu­dents and almost 5319 employees, 507 pro­fes­sors among them, and, thus, is the lar­gest uni­ver­sity in Sax­ony, today.

Having been com­mit­ted to sci­en­ces and the engi­nee­ring before the reuni­fi­ca­tion of Ger­many, TU Dres­den now is a multi-disci­pline uni­ver­sity, also offe­ring huma­nities and social sci­en­ces as well as medi­cine.

in Sys­tems Engi­nee­ring

The Chair of Busi­ness Infor­ma­tics, esp. Sys­tems Engi­nee­ring offers the fol­lo­wing 3 fixed-term posi­ti­ons (The period of employ­ment is gover­ned by the Fixed Term Rese­arch Con­tracts Act [Wis­sen­schafts­zeit­ver­trags­ge­setz - Wiss­ZeitVG].) star­ting at the ear­liest pos­si­ble date. The posi­ti­ons aim at obtai­ning fur­ther aca­de­mic qua­li­fi­ca­tion (e.g. PhD). Sub­ject to per­so­nal qua­li­fi­ca­tion employees are remu­n­e­ra­ted accord­ing to salary group E 13 TV-L. Through the pro­vi­sion of third-party fun­ding, these posi­ti­ons can become full-time posi­ti­ons.

1. limi­ted for 3 years, which ent­ails 25% of the full­time weekly hours
2. initi­ally limi­ted for 3 years with the pos­si­bi­lity of exten­sion, which ent­ails 50% of the full­time weekly hours
3. initi­ally limi­ted for 3 years with the pos­si­bi­lity of exten­sion, which ent­ails 25% of the full­time weekly hours.

Work­ing field:

cont­ri­bu­ti­ons to teaching and rese­arch activi­ties of the chair; theo­re­ti­cal and empi­ri­cal stu­dies; invol­ve­ment in aca­de­mic self-govern­ment; par­ti­ci­pa­tion in inter­na­tio­nal con­fe­ren­ces and giving pre­sen­ta­ti­ons in Ger­man and Eng­lish; cont­ri­bu­ti­ons to exter­nally fun­ded rese­arch and deve­lop­ment pro­jects.


good uni­ver­sity degree (diploma, M.Sc.) in Busi­ness Infor­ma­tics, Busi­ness and Engi­nee­ring, Infor­ma­tion Tech­no­lo­gies or Busi­ness and Eco­no­mics with an empha­sis on Busi­ness Infor­ma­tics; inte­rest in teaching; good ana­lyti­cal skills; very good Eng­lish skills; ability to work inde­pendently and in a team; above- aver­age ana­lyti­cal and con­cep­tual skills in one or more of the fol­lo­wing fields: ana­ly­sis and design methods of sys­tem deve­lop­ment, busi­ness pro­cess mode­ling, pro­cess manage­ment, hos­pi­tal manage­ment, con­trol­ling, pro­gramming lan­gua­ges, CASE-tools.
