The position is to be filled as soon as possible and will be offered till 31st of May 2020. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG). The position offers the chance to obtain further academic qualification (e.g. PhD).
Research focuses on Computer Vision and Computer Graphics within the interdisciplinary research project “SePIA”. The main task of the project is the development of a catalog of critical traffic situations that can serve as the foundation of approval procedures for autonomous vehicles. For this video data of natural driving situations are analyzed with respect to critical situations. The task of our Chair is the semantic analysis of video data and the 3D-reconstruction of critical traffic situations. Within your work you will design and implement a system for video analysis that allows analysis of different data sets with the best state of the art methods and supports the export of results in formats suitable for the project partners.
Excellent university degree (Master or equivalent) in the field of Computer Science, Photogrammetry, Measurement Technology or similar fields; ability to work independently and target-oriented in a team, high commitment, fluent in English language to write excellent papers and to participate in international conferences, interest in practice-oriented and interdisciplinary cooperation with partners, knowledge in semantic video analysis, 3D reconstruction as well as in the implementation with C++ and of GPUs is advantageous.
