The Pagel group at the Institute of Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Freie Universität Berlin is a dynamic, motivated, interdisciplinary and internationally strongly networked research group and is looking for a highly motivated, scientifically excellent, team-minded and experienced research associate (pre-doc). The research group focusses on the structural analysis and sequencing of complex oligosaccharides using ion mobility mass spectrometry and gas phase IR spectroscopy. Both established techniques are applied and new methods are developed, especially for the differentiation of isomers.
As part of the Collaborative Research Centre 1340 ‘Matrix in Vision’, glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) and their complexation to cationic imaging probes are investigated using a range of different techniques. The position to be filled here is intended to strengthen the area of carbohydrate synthesis and infrared spectrometry within the CRC.
