The Chair of Organization at the School of Business & Economics is seeking a research assistant (postdoc). In research and teaching, our group focuses on the organization, structures, and processes on the upper echelons or management level of firms. The group’s research is based on behavioral theories and deals primarily with cognitive, emotional, and social aspects of organizations, e. g. the social behavior of individuals in organizations or the irrationality of decision-making. We work with both qualitative and quantitative empirical methods. Our teaching is grounded in theory and research-oriented while at the same time relevant for practice.

Job description:

• Independent research on self-chosen topics in areas relevant to the Chair of Organization and/or in cooperation with members of the chair
• Independent teaching within the chair’s teaching curriculum
• Participation in the academic self-administration of the department
• The position is intended for personal scientific qualification

Requirements:

• University degree (M.Sc., Magister, Diplom, or Staatsexamen) in business administration or related fields (e.g., psychology, social sciences or economics)
• Completed doctoral degree in management or related fields

Desirable:

• Excellent academic achievements
• Very good track-record of research and publication activities, preferably on an international level in one of the following areas of management: Organization, Strategy, or Organizational Behavior
• Teaching experience in German and English in the areas of organization, strategy, management, or related fields
• Profound knowledge and experience of quantitative and/or qualitative research methods
• Excellent command of spoken and written scientific communication in German and English
• Motivation for scientific qualification
