The Research Unit Collaborations: Assemblages, Articulations, Alliances, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), encompasses seven interconnected research projects based at University of Potsdam (leading institution), Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, and Freie Universität Berlin (https://www.uni-potsdam.de/en/research-unit-collaborations/ ). The project based at the Department of Sociology at the Institute for Latin American Studies at FU Berlin aims at researching in collaboration with scholars, activists and other non- academic experts anti-racist movements in Brazil.
Job description:
The future Research Assistant will conduct research collaboration with anti-racist organizations in Brazil and will be in exchange with all other research teams of the Research Unit. The position requires continuous work in presence in Berlin and research trips mainly to Brazil. The main duties of the future Research Assistant are supporting the Research Unit and conducting an own doctoral dissertation in sociology within the field of anti-racism in Brazil. The future Research Assistant will also participate in the conception and coordination of research activities and workshops in Germany and in Brazil as well as in the preparation and dissemination of relevant materials related to the research conducted. The Research Assistant will work in an vivid international, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary environment in which new forms of research cooperation on an equal footing between academic and non-academic experts from different regions will be explored and developed.
Requirements:
An master degree or equivalent in sociology or social sciences and very good command of the Portuguese language.
