The appointee will conduct (1) tectonics research, with projects devised independently and/or
in collaboration with members of the Tectonics and Tectonophysics team, and (2) teach
tectonics-disciplinary classes in the undergraduate and/or Masters programmes. Our present
research projects explore development of early Earth and hot terrestrial planets; Himalayan
tectonics in Earth system science context; surface salt tectonics; structural issues with
societal impact (e.g., groundwater dynamics), and the tectonics of the north-eastern
Mediterranean region. Consistent with these diverse projects, our group has similarly diverse
research interests, skills, and backgrounds. The research group offers an intercultural, open-

science, remote sensing. Broader disciplinary backgrounds may be considered if the
applicant can use their skills to develop and test tectonic concepts; we actively seek group
    members from diverse backgrounds.
  • Teaching experience in structural geology and / or related disciplines.
  • Our projects typically involve coordination of research teams from different fields, so fluency
