Technische Universität Berlin offers an open position:

Research Assistant - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen - 1st qualification period (PhD candidate)

part-time employment may be possible

Working field:

  • Collaboration in research and teaching in the field of scientific computing and numerical linear algebra, in particular in the area of equation system solvers (multi-level methods, Krylov subspace methods)
  • Teaching courses, in particular exercises (4 SWS full-time, also for non-mathematical degree programmes)
  • Co-supervision of final theses

Requirements:

  • Successfully completed academic university degree (Master's, Diplom or equivalent) in mathematics with a focus on numerical linear algebra, proven by a Master's thesis in this field
  • The ability to teach in German and/or English is required; willingness to acquire the missing language skills in each case

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of computer science
  • Knowledge of teaching at the TU Berlin
