Research assistant - 0.75 working time - salary grade E 13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen

Working field:

Research within a DFG funded project as part of the priority program SPP 2451 "Engineered Living Materials with Adaptive Functions" with the topic: "Engineered Living Actuators from Filamentous Cyanobacteria". In close collaboration with experimental colleagues from Konstanz (Prof. Karpitschka) and Bayreuth (Prof. Ionov) a comprehensive modeling and simulation study for the understanding of gliding filamentous cyanobacteria will be performed. The aim are light-controlled living actuators.


  • successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in physics or a comparable subject
  • very good knowledge in theoretical physics
  • good command of German and/or English ist required; willingness to learn either English or German
  • high level of commitment and ability to work independently


  • very good prior knowledge in the physics of soft matter as well as experience in numerical methods
