Technische Universität Berlin - Faculty II - Institute for Chemistry / Chair of Physical Chemistry - Molecular Material Sciences

Technische Universität Berlin offers an open position:

Research assistant - 0.67 working time - salary grade E 13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen

Working field:

Project work in the DFG-funded project "AIPEC-Liposome Interaction". In this project, the interaction of interpolyelectrolyte complexes (IPECs) with lipid membranes will be investigated. For this, the required amphiphilic polyelectrolytes have to be synthesised and IPECs are to be formulated with them and to become structurally characterised. Subsequently, the phase behaviour of the mixtures of IPECs and phospholipid vesicles is to be studied and the formed structures are to be characterised in particular by means of scattering methods and optical microscopy. The complementary characterisation of the systems by cryo-TEM will be done in cooperation with a partner at the Technion Haifa (Israel).

Requirements:

  • Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in chemistry, physics or related subjects
  • Good command of German and/or English required; willingness to learn either English or German is expected

Desired qualifications:

  • Knowledge in the field of colloidal or polymeric systems and especially expertise in the field of investigating colloidal systems by means of light, x-ray or neutron scattering as well as in the area of optical microscopy

How to apply:

Please send your application with the reference number and the usual documents (combined in a single pdf file, max 5 MB) only by email to Prof. Dr. Gradzielski via tc7@molmat.tu-berlin.de.
