Technische Universität Berlin offers an open position:

Research Assistant (PostDoc) – salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen

Part-time employment may be possible

Working field:

  • Research assistance on electrocatalytic water spltting with ion exchange membranes (focus on synthesis, development and characterisation of novel materials for seawater electrolysis)
  • Independant and scientific work in electro chemistry, electrocatalysis, synthesis and characterisation of catalysts

Requirements:

  • Successfully completed scientific university degree (Master, Diploma or equivalent) and PhD in in physical or electro-chemistry, chemical or materials engineering
  • Research experience with electrochemical methods, materials synthesis and characterization (RDE, LSV, CV, EIS, etc.)
  • Practical skills relevant for task under inert gas atmosphere (Schlenk-technic, glovebox)
  • Research experience at synchrotron facilities
  • Good knowledge of German and/or English required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills

Desirable:

  • Research experience on electrolysis
  • Theoretical and practical skills on following analytical methods: XRD, XAS, chromatography, mass spectroscopy
