Research assistant - salary grade E 13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen - 1st qualification period (PhD candidate)

part-time employment may be possible

Working field:

  • research in the field of public economics with methods from either microeconomics/game theory/behavioral economics (if applicable inclusive of economic experiments) or general equilibrium theory (static or dynamic models)
  • organization and implementation of teaching courses as well as supervision of Bachelor and Master theses
  • supporting the chair in research, teaching and administration as well as the acquisition of third-party funding projects
  • application for and engagement in the „PhD-program“ of the „Berlin School of Economics“ is welcome and supported (https://berlinschoolofeconomics.de/)

Requirements:

  • completed above-average university degree (Diploma, Master or equivalent) in Economics or equivalent courses of study
  • very good knowledge of the methods used in microeconomics/game theory/behavioral economics (if applicable inclusive of economic experiments) or general equilibrium theory (static or dynamic models)
  • experience in or interest at one or more of the following subareas of public economics: economics of taxation, health economics, environmental and resource economics, sports economics
  • The ability to teach in German and/or in English is required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills
  • high level of independence and commitment
