Technische Universität Berlin offers an open position:
part-time employment may be possible
The Department of Hydrogeology at the TU Berlin focusses on the sustainable management
of groundwater resources that are affected by land use change and shifts in climate.
The position focuses on the development of mathematical-numerical methods at catchment
scale. In this context, hydrological models as well as flow and solute transport models are to
be designed for topics related to the sustainable management of water resources. Participation in hydrogeological courses of 4 LVS (lecture hour) and engagement in the supervision of bachelor and
master theses is expected. The courses include transport and flow modeling and programming. The willingness to support the department in the acquisition of external funding is desired. The possibility of habilitation is offered.
Prerequisite is, in addition to a Master's degree (or equivalent) in geosciences, geoecology,
hydrology, a PhD in the field of numerical models at the catchment scale.
Furthermore, knowledge in:
(i) uncertainty analyses and stochastic methods
(ii) the application of geochemical program codes, such as PHREEQC
(iii) scripting languages, such as Python.
The successful candidate will have good communication skills, especially good written and
spoken English and basic German (sufficient language proficiency to teach classes in both German and English is expected), publication in ISI-listed journals, teaching experience, and gender and diversity competence.
