Working field:

We are looking for a person with in-depth knowledge in powder technology, technical ceramics and powder-based additive manufacturing. The selected candidate will conduct innovative scientific research by deepening and complementing the already ongoing research and teaching activities of the Chair. Ability to conduct independent research and teaching is required. It is strongly encouraged and expected that the selected applicant will pursue further qualifications (e.g., Habilitation, ERC application, Emmy-Noether application or similar).

Tasks include:

  • Independent conceptualization, application and coordination of research proposals.
  • Independent conceptualization, organization, supervision and implementation of courses in the department
  • Initiation, development and coordination of cooperation with research institutions and companies
  • Supervision of students and doctoral candidates
  • Coordination and supervision of research projects and research cooperations
  • Scientific publications

Requirements:

  • Successfully completed scientific university studies with a doctorate in materials science, materials engineering, chemistry, physics or a related discipline; the date of the doctoral examination (the debate) should be at least two years, but not more than four years, before the deadline
  • An exceptional understanding of classical as well as technical ceramic materials and their potentials
  • Extensive experience in wet processing of ceramic raw materials
  • In-depth expertise in the fields of powder technology of technical ceramics and powder-based additive manufacturing, demonstrated by scientific publications/project proposals
  • Extensive experience in the analysis of particle and powder properties, in particular, the flow and packing behavior of powders
  • Demonstrated excellence in scientific research and method development as evidenced by several publications in the relevant fields
  • International experience
  • Individual researcher profile and willingness to apply for and establish their research group in the future.
  • Proven ability and experience to collaborate and communicate effectively with research institutions and companies
  • Proven experience in designing, organizing, supervising and conducting courses in German and English, especially lectures and laboratory practicals in Additive Manufacturing
  • Proven experience in professional supervision of students and doctoral candidates
  • sufficient language proficiency to teach in German and/or English is required; willingness to learn either English or German is expected
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
