part-time employment may be possible

Maternity leave replacement from Nov. 5th, 2023 and a possible subsequent parental leave replacement

Working field:

The projects you work on deal with concrete mix-design optimization for various applications, such as pre-cast concrete members and additive manufacturing (3D concrete printing). The target will be the development of low-CO2 binders for concrete based on ordinary Portland cement (OPC) and alkali-activated binders (AAB; including geopolymers). For Portland cement binder additive manufacturing, lightweight concrete development is also intended. The raw materials of the binders must be characterized. The strength development must be thoroughly optimized, especially for additive manufacturing. Reaction products have to be characterized. The durability of OPC and alternative concretes has to be determined and optimized. You will work in state-founded cooperation projects with industry partners and other universities.

Requirements:

Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in civil engineering, materials science, chemistry, or geosciences with a focus on building materials science/construction chemistry or related disciplines; in-depth knowledge of inorganic building materials and concrete technology; experience in the field of solid phase characterization, the hydration of inorganic binders, alkali-activation, the use of construction chemicals and additive manufacturing is advantageous; good knowledge of German and/or English; high motivation and ability to work independently and scientifically; experience with writing scientific publications should be available. In the application, existing experience in the area of the advertised topic and previously used analytical methods must be indicated.

How to apply:

Please send your application with the reference number and the usual documents only by email (in a PDF file, max. 5 MB) to Prof. Dr. Stephan (info@baustoffe.tu-berlin.de).

By submitting your application via email you consent to having your data electronically processed and saved.
