Research Associate (PostDoc) - salary grade 13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen - 2nd qualification period (Habilitation)

Working field:

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing, future development, and implementation of the field observation strategy focusing on the urban carbon cycle and especially on the carbon storage in cities. This strategy will be advanced in collaboration with the other Chairs at the Institute of Ecology. Regular teaching is a requirement.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. degree in ecology, geoecology, biogeochemistry, physics or equivalent
  • good publication record in the abovementioned fields
  • expertise in monitoring carbon cycle or one of its components
  • fluency in English (written and spoken)
  • sufficient language proficiency to teach classes in both German and English is expected

desirable knowledge:
  • track record in working with terrestrial LIDAR
  • knowledge of German and additional languages is a plus
  • international experience
