Internship International Climate Protection

Berlin office

Working field:

What will the internship be about?
You will support an interdisciplinary team of researchers in the further development of the Carbon Credit Quality Initiative (CCQI) which we have launched in 2021 together with Environmental Defense Fund and World Wildlife Fund US. With the CCQI project, we want to enhance transparency about the quality of carbon credits. To do this, we use our own methodology that systematically assesses their various quality aspects.
In the coming year, we will analyse exciting new project types including forest protection, renewable energies and industrial gases.

Requirements:

Who should apply?
Applications from all academic disciplines are welcome. We especially welcome prior knowledge in theoretical and applied economics, social science, environmental science, forestry, data science and engineering.
As the project language is English, very good knowledge of English is required.

How would your tasks look like?
The possibilities to get involved in the project are manifold and depend on your previous knowledge and research interests. We need you to help with literature research, proofreading, data analysis and spreadsheets. Independent work on conducting smaller research questions as well as support with project management however are also possible.

What we offer:

For students who are looking for an opportunity for a compulsory internship in the 2023 summer term, the Oeko-Institut offers exciting insights into current debates on international climate policy.

Why to do an internship with us?
With us you will get a 360-degree insight into applied interdisciplinary science. If you are interested in how new methodological approaches and scientific findings can be translated into better climate protection, this internship will be a perfect opportunity for you. In CCQI you will get to know different aspects of applied scientific work. This includes practical experience in the application of qualitative and quantitative methods, science communication, as well as in the management of an international research project.
