Research within a DFG funded project „An in silico model of the African trypanosome: Moving in complex environments“. A comprehensive simulation study using the method of multi-particle collision dynamics will explore the locomotion of the parasite African Trypanosome in complex geometries to understand its behavior in real environments. This includes microchannels with constrictions and obstacles as well as models for collagen networks and fat tissue. The investigations are planned in close collaboration with experiments in the group of Prof. Engstler in Würzburg.
