The TU Dres­den is one of ele­ven Ger­man uni­ver­si­ties that were iden­ti­fied as an “excel­lence uni­ver­sity”. TUD has about 36.500 stu­dents and almost 5319 employees, 507 pro­fes­sors among them, and, thus, is the lar­gest uni­ver­sity in Sax­ony, today.

Having been com­mit­ted to sci­en­ces and the engi­nee­ring before the reuni­fi­ca­tion of Ger­many, TU Dres­den now is a multi-disci­pline uni­ver­sity, also offe­ring huma­nities and social sci­en­ces as well as medi­cine.

Rese­arch Asso­ciate (m/f/x)

The pro­ject posi­tion is star­ting as soon as pos­si­ble. The posi­tion ent­ails 50 % of the full­time wee­kly hours and is limi­ted until Sep­tem­ber 30, 2025. The period of employ­ment is gover­ned by § 2 (2) Fixed Term Rese­arch Con­tracts Act (Wis­sen­schafts­zeit­ver­trags­ge­setz-WissZeitVG).

Working field:

Syn­the­sis and cha­rac­te­ri­za­tion of porous solids such as porous car­bons, silica and Metal-Orga­nic Frame­works. The fur­ther task is the deve­lop­ment of the instru­men­ta­tion for in situ Radio­gra­phy and Tomo­gra­phy in par­al­lel to adsorp­tion of gases and liquids. The instru­men­ta­tion will be com­mis­sio­ned at BAM­line of BESSY II syn­chro­tron (HZB). Wri­ting beam­time app­li­ca­ti­ons, instru­men­ta­tion manu­als, mea­su­rement and ana­ly­sis of the data belong to the task of the rese­arch asso­ciate.

Requirements:

very good uni­ver­sity degree in che­mi­stry or expe­ri­men­tal phy­sics; basic know­ledge in X-ray ima­ging and tomo­gra­phy, good PC know­ledge, the know­ledge of Python pro­gramming lan­guage and CAD-3D soft­ware is advan­ta­ge­ous; expe­ri­ence in the use and ser­vice of sci­en­ti­fic-tech­ni­cal devices; high self-moti­va­tion; good com­mand of writ­ten and spo­ken Eng­lish; capa­city for team­work and orga­ni­za­tio­nal talent; wil­ling­ness to busi­ness trips.
