Research Assistant - 0.75 working time - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen

Working field:

Research within a DFG funded project as part of the priority program SPP 2171 "Dynamic Wetting of Flexible, Adaptive and Switchable Surfaces" with the topic: "Dynamic wetting on deforming substrates, elastic sheets, and under evaporation: A study with the boundary element method." A comprehensive simulation study using the boundary element method will explore dynamic wetting under different settings in close collaboration with experiments. The investigations are relevant for microfluidic applications and microoptical lenses.

Requirements:

Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in physics or a comparable subject; very good knowledge in theoretical physics. Very good prior knowledge in the physics of soft matter as well as experience in numerical methods are desirable. High level of commitment and ability to work independently. Good command of German and/or English is required; willingness to learn either English or German.
