Participation in the research project "Spectrally controllable quantum dot molecule components and entangled photon pair sources with on-chip fiber coupling" in the BMBF joint project QR.X for the development of a quantum repeater network. In close cooperation with QR.X partner groups the sub-project at the TU Berlin aims on the development of fiber-coupled spin-photon interfaces based on quantum dot molecules and entangled-photon-pair sources based on quantum dots. The quantum devices are fabricated using in-situ electron beam lithography and other modern nanotechnology processes in order to finally prepare them for direct use in a quantum repeater testbed using on-chip fiber coupling. The project activities also include the design and numerical optimization of the quantum devices and detailed optical and quantum optical studies to evaluate their performance.
Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in physics or similar courses with in-depth knowledge and experience in the manufacture and optical as well as quantum optical study of low-dimensional semiconductor materials, in particular in the context of the final thesis, preferably in the field of integrated quantum nanophotonics; Experience in the field of optical and quantum optical studies of quantum light sources and semiconductor components is desirable; also the willingness to interdisciplinary cooperation with external project groups. Good command of German and/or English required; willingness to learn either English or German is expected.
