2 positions - Research Assistant - 0.6667 working time - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen - 1st qualification period (PhD candidate)

Working field:

The research activities of the department are directed towards specific aspects of the extraction, processing and food technological application of carbohydrates and lipids. The tasks of the positions to be filled relate to the fields of extraction and crystallization with the aim of a more sustainable and efficient production of food.
  • Perform practical experiments on laboratory and pilot plant equipment, chemical and physical analyses (e.g. NMR, HPLC, DSC, ...), as well as modeling tasks (e.g. MatLab)
  • Responsible for planning, elaboration and execution of lecture-accompanying exercises and practical courses (teaching tasks)
  • Supervision of BSc and MSc theses
  • Active contribution to the organization of the department

Requirements:

  • Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in a technical/scientific discipline (food, process or other engineering sciences, physics, chemistry); above-average results desired
  • Previous experience in process engineering (e.g. extraction, crystallization, separation processes)
  • Experience on pilot plant equipment and/or in laboratory
  • Very good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken
Desired qualification:
  • Experience in writing scientific publications
  • Experience in teaching
  • In-depth knowledge in the field of carbohydrates and lipids
  • Previous knowledge of MatLab, LabVIEW or a programming language
