Working field:

Involvement in research of economic issues related to the decommissioning of nuclear power plants. The position is part of a DFG research project "Best Practices for Decommissioning of Nuclear Power Plants", analyzing organizational models for financing the decommissioning of commercial nuclear power plants, in particular in the USA, UK, France, Germany and Switzerland. The project takes into account both quantitative and qualitative factors such as the organization of the electricity market, market power and cost structure, and the role of government in the nuclear power industry.


  • Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in economics, industrial engineering, political science, physics, mechanical engineering, or similar
  • Very good academic performance desirable
  • Expertise in the international nuclear sector is an advantage
  • Experience / knowledge in the theoretical areas of institutional, industrial and welfare economics is an advantage
  • Very good English and good German language skills (oral and written) are required
  • Communication skills, ability to work independently but also in a team are highly desired
