Technische Universität Berlin - Faculty IV – Institute of Telecommunication Systems / Open Distributed Systems

Research Assistant - salary grade E 13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen

under the reserve that funds are granted - part-time employment may be possible

At the Open Distributed Systems Group (ODS) at the Technical University of Berlin, we conduct research on topics relating to the digitalization and opening of science. In this context, we are focusing on data infrastructures and data tools.

As part of the project “NFDI for Catalysis-related Sciences (NFDI4Cat)”, we are involved in a consortium that aims to redefine catalysis research in the digital age. In the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI), the valuable data stocks from science and research are to be systematically developed, networked and made sustainable and qualitatively usable for the entire German science system.

Working field:

Berlin plays a crucial role within NFDI4Cat. The UniCat BASF JointLab (BasCat), as well as the Open Distributed Systems Group (ODS) at the Technical University of Berlin, the Berlin Institute for the Foundations of Learning and Data (BIFOLD) and the Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems (FOKUS) are reuniting to develop new methods and approaches for catalysis research. The aim of this joint initiative is the development of modern data infrastructures and data tools that enable a completely new type of catalysis research in the digital age.

  • Research in the field of digitalization and opening of science, in particular data infrastructures and data tools,
  • regular presentation and publication of research results,
  • collaboration with regional, national and international partners,
  • development of data infrastructures for modern catalysis research,
  • development of data tools to support digital workflows in catalysis research,
  • evaluation of relevant approaches and systems as well as selection of suitable frameworks and technologies.

The opportunity for pursuing a Ph.D. in TU Berlin is given.More information on the position or the NFDI4Cat project van be obtained via
