Working field:

Independent research activity in the field of geophysical exploration of the near-surface subsurface for the determination of characteristic value, in particular with electrical and electromagnetic methods with the aim of obtaining a doctorate.
Independent implementation of courses of the department in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs (German and English) including organization, administration, supervision and examinations.

Supervision of students in the context of student projects as well as final theses.
Supervision of the geophysical laboratory and field equipment technology available at the department.
Acquisition and implementation of third-party funded projects.
Participation in academic self-administration.


Successfully completed academic university degree (master's, diploma or equivalent) in applied geophysics or an applied physical or geoscientific discipline with a focus on geophysics are required.

Prerequisite is very good theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of near-surface geophysics, in particular electrical and electromagnetic methods
Experience in the planning and implementation of international geophysical field measurements is required.
Very good German and English skills are expected.

The applicant must be able to be used flexibly in any of the courses offered at the Department of Applied Geophysics.
Experience in working on student projects is required.
Initial experience in teaching is an advantage.

In-depth knowledge in dealing with experimental installations as well as in the implementation and evaluation of petrophysical experiments is desirable.
